# Cancel Retries for a Number

> Cancel every scheduled retry to one phone number across the account

For on-demand opt-out or do-not-call handling when only the phone number is known. Every retry to the number that is still `scheduled` is cancelled so it never dials; retries that have already started dialling are left alone. One account can never cancel another's retries.

This does not add the number to the [suppression list](/api-reference/suppression-list/list-add); do that as well to stop future campaigns.
