# Delete SMS Template

> Permanently deletes an archived SMS template. Only archived templates that no agent references can be deleted.

## Path Parameters

<ParamField path="templateId" type="string" required>
  The template's UUID. Must belong to one of the account's organizations, else `404`. A value
  that is not a UUID at all is rejected earlier, with `400 invalid templateId`.

<Note>
  The template must be **archived** first (`PATCH` with `status: "archived"`). Deleting a template still referenced by an agent's Send SMS configuration is blocked with `409`.
